Although this writing could be about me, it actually is not. Sorry, if I’ve disappointed.
But, you know your grandchild is getting older when they care more about the meal in the Happy Meal than the toy.
This realization is heart wrenching. When did Ava get so mature? When did the “Happy” meal get so “Sad” for me.
But….
And when Liv is too old, there will be River. Keep them coming so I won’t have to resort to writing a “Too Old” story about me. They keep you young, right?!!
The girls have returned from their vacation in Florida. They had a wonderful time and did alot of activities.
When they began planning their trip, I tried to recall my earliest memories of vacations. I have some memories, mostly the ones that have pictures attached to them, but i would have liked to have known the excitement and feelings I was enjoying at that time.
This brought me to the idea of starting them off with a vacation “journal”. I purchased a “diary” for each of them.
Then I bought some stickers relative to their vacation …mermaids and pirates, because, you know you may meet one or the other on vacation (and they did, thank goodness) Travel mode stickers are good and anything that will help to describe their vacation without too many words. Liv can’t write yet and Ava’s in learning mode.
Hopefully, they will remember to take them on future vacations and look back at them in amusement and fond memories.
