Gia is in Greece🇬🇷

Flying Emirates airlines was especially promising as my husband purchased the additional leg room seats. Can’t say one way or another if this was exceptional, but I will say it is exceptional to receive two meals, dinner and breakfast, which weren’t bad. The dinner included wine all for no extra charge.

They also were very friendly. They passed out “make up” bags which contained tooth brush, tooth paste, eye mask, socks and stickers allowing them to know if you wanted to be awakened for food or not.

All in all, a long trip made as pleasurable as possible. You could upgrade to a better seat which I imagine is pretty costly, but looked super comfy.

We arrived at our hotel in Piraeus, Athens. On the onset I wanted to be near the ferries for our trip to Mykonos in the early a.m. This hotel was chosen for price and proximity to the Piareus ferry port. We knew this hotel was just a layover to the big adventure. I, of course, had second thoughts as to the location after reading reviews on this area in Piareus.

The Piareus hotel was perfect for our needs, clean, albeit, small room, with friendly and helpful service. Great for our needs for a resting place.

The area although grungy looking, was safe and pleasurable. I’m sure it is even more inviting on another day but Suday. Most businesses were closed, but we did find a quaint Taverna which was surprisingly good and fresh.

Perfect for a quick bite. Friendly and helpful service

We are winding down from the overnight flight and looking forward to visiting the Greek Islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Also, visiting the Acropolis on our return to Athens.

Nite, nite for now. Looking forward to a very early breakfast which is included, and off to the ferries. Mykonos, here we come.

Loving Greece, so far.
