A walk in the park

Today my plans to exercise were put to the wayside early in the morning. No treadmill would get my time today. I’ll go about my daily routine sans exercise.

On the way back from work, I passed a park.  I immediately was faced with a dilemma. It looked so inviting. Should I stop or should I keep going and get back to work. I was almost past the entrance and just like that I made a sharp turn into the park.  Boy, am I glad I did.

I would exercise and take in the sights and sounds.

Sometimes the things that are unplanned are the most rewarding. After all, it’s not like I’ve never walked in a park alone before. It was the spontaneity of the moment.

I was amazed at the number of people who where there, at the edge of the pond, sitting on a bench or standing just reflecting, contemplating.

It was a cloudy yet beautiful day. Slightly humid, slightly breezy.

I’m so glad I made the turn into the park. It was just what my mind and body needed. The balmy weather was reminiscent of spring with the splash of fall’s colors. There couldn’t have been a better backdrop for the relaxation my body was feeling. Feeling so free of spirit just by taking a little time to take in nature’s beauty.

In this busy world, I challenge you to take a little time to have the wind blow through your hair.
